Wind Solar Farms
Wind turbines standing across a green field at a wind farm

Wind and solar farm security, off the grid by design

The site that watches itself, construction to commissioning

Through construction and into operations, renewable sites cover hundreds of hectares with cable, copper and plant that no one patrols at night. HoundLight is a solar 4G alarm unit that detects people after hours, warns them to leave and alerts your team at once — with no power or Wi-Fi at the point it's needed.

What goes missing

The things that disappear on a wind or solar farm after hours.

Cable and copper stripped from trench runs, tracks and substation compounds

Tools and materials taken from laydown areas

Break-ins at inverter, transformer and battery storage (BESS) compounds

Fuel and plant stolen during the construction phase

Unauthorised access up turbine and inverter tracks

Vandalism and fire risk at remote assets

Where to put it

Where ImageDeep watches on a wind or solar farm.

Site entrance & gate

Watches the main access — and pairs with SmartReg plate capture.

Substation compound

Guards the highest-value copper on the site.

Laydown area

Covers cable drums, tools and materials between shifts.

Turbine / inverter access tracks

Sees people coming up the tracks after hours.

BESS compound

Watches the battery storage enclosure and its fence line.

Cable trench runs

Overlooks the open trenches where cable is most exposed.

The 2:04am scenario

It's 2:04am. The solar farm is a month from energisation and the trench runs are closed for the night. A pickup comes up the inverter track without lights and stops by the substation fence. Before anyone is out, a solar unit on the compound lights up the track and a voice warning tells them to leave. They reverse out the way they came. The clip and the time are waiting in Scopis AI before the morning stand-up.

Illustrative scenario — no real customer implied.

How it works

From a shape in the dark to a record your insurer can read.

1

Detect

A person shows up after hours — the AI on the alarm unit spots them.

2

Warn

A verbal warning tells them to leave, and blue and red lights start flashing.

3

Alert

The clip goes to your whole team at once, by app, text or WhatsApp. Anyone can cancel or escalate it in the Scopis AI app.

4

Record

Every event is logged with its clip in Scopis AI, ready for your insurer or the police.

Pair with SmartReg at the site entrance

HoundLight watches for people. SmartReg, our number-plate recognition product, logs every vehicle and plate in and out of the site — useful through the construction phase, when delivery traffic is heaviest and approved-list flags show you anything that isn't expected.

Why not a CCTV tower?

  • No road, level pad or tow vehicle needed — it goes on a post or pole

  • No fuel, no generator noise and no refuelling runs across the site

  • It moves from compound to compound as the build moves

  • Several small alarm units cover more points than one tall mast

Questions for Wind & solar farms

No. HoundLight runs on its own solar panel and battery and connects over 4G — right for a site whose own grid connection comes last.
